Challenge
A major EV manufacturer was looking for a way to repurpose their used EV battery packs, rather than throwing them out.
Solution
HRE was hired to design a stationary second-life battery system using these battery packs.
Results
HRE worked closely with the EV manufacturer to understand the pack technical specifications and design and build a custom battery management and power conversion system to control the used packs. Our customer now has a 1MWh energy storage building block that can be used for old EV packs.
